I felt it was well-conceived and thoughtfully developed, with the various scenes springing from a very significant conversation between Daniel and King Cyrus. "Book of Daniel" is very well made and the acting is awesome, not at all what I expected. And of course, we all know that this was the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Jealousy never wins out and this is proof of it.

I knew the Biblical record which simply states that God stirred up the spirit of Cyrus but never really thought about HOW exactly He did so, this movie shows it in a way that is both clever and in all probability is accurate. This is one of my favorites. Lance Henriksen seems believable as Cyrus and Miano gives a genuine performance as Daniel. You can even browse through the sermon videos and. He encounters Cyrus and asked him for permission to tell him the story of 4 kings, one who was great, one who was foolish, one who was deceived, and one who was to be regarded as wise for ages to come. I am sure you have all heard the story or read about Daniel in the lion’s den. It was amazing . I’m not a religious person myself so this film won't effect me emotionally (or spiritually) like it will with some people, but I still have respect for the Bible (a relic of my days when I was in Sunday school as a child), so I will just give it a review from a secular perspective. Yes, there has been some ‘interpretation’ but for the greater part this is a very good re-telling on film. The acting is excellent and the story is portrayed more accurately than any Biblical movie made to date. A most treasured old testament book beautifully portrayed. I was therefore pleasantly surprised at how well this film has remained with the original feeling of the Daniel text. Even the dialog of Cyrus about his upbringing is backed up by historical records of the time and handed down tradition. That’s right. Ironically, they are directed by a female director. In 605 B.C. Robert Miano was excellent as Daniel. Enjoyed this film. It is one of my favorites. You can even browse through the sermon videos and sermon audio for preaching or teachings on the subject. Let’s face it, although he trusted God, he had to have been a little scared. Apart from the largely worded movie, there is a lot more dialogue than actions at times. It would be difficult to include the entire book of Daniel and this film version only deals with the early historical section.
