While the child's viewpoint provides a heartbreaking narrative regarding the death of a parent at an age when a father figure is central to a young man's development, it misses the emotional impact of 9-11 as a whole on society, which is out of the understanding of a young child. I didn't want to read a heartbreak story centred around 9/11 but it's sooo much more than that, the tragedy is just a piece in this beautiful puzzle. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. However, this story gave me a different perspective, one I have been searching for in other books -- that of the survivors of tragedies: what people go through after a loved one has died. To date, I have found that in only one book by Joan Didion.
